Fun fact about me: I’m very easily freaked out. If I ever think too hard about life, the universe and everything in between, it makes my brain feel close to combustion. So, naturally, fully knowing that the concept of space gives me the heebie-jeebies, I decide to spend my Saturday at the National Space Centre. It’s one of the things that Leicester is famous for, right? And I’ve lived here nearly 20 years, and only been there once. It was time to change that.
And you know what? It was actually fun. Yes, the ‘how will the Earth die?’ bit was slightly panic inducing, but aside from that it’s all pretty impressive. And the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium is possibly the coolest thing I’ve ever been in in my entire life. Think the IMAX cinema, but dome shaped.
Anyway, here are some cool photos I took. It’s not the handiest of places to get to, but it’s worth the drive out. Do not leave Leicester without seeing this, I beg of you.
