So, since I’ve been feeling a little bit stressed – what with final year work and being ill – I decided that I needed to do something to relax. As many of my friends from back home are also feeling the stress of final year, we decided as a group that we would get some animal therapy!
We visited a farm that is local to us, and met a range of different domestic and farm yard animals! It was a great way to take my mind of my work for a couple of hours – and I even made a couple of new friends.
The two highlights of the day were meeting (and cuddling) the guinea pigs and getting the opportunity to bottle feed lambs. Despite being almost 22 years old I had such a good time – I’d definitely recommend spending time with some animals as a good way to destress. Some great photo opportunities too!
The students union often put on events that help students to de-stress during the exam period, some of which involve animals. A particularly popular one is the opportunity to meet some little puppies – I can’t imagine why everyone wants to see them!
So if you’ve got exams after Easter, then I’d definitely recommend a bit of animal love to help you along. Keep an eye out for more information of de-stressing on the SU website.
