    One thing that I would add is to look for signs of damp such as light stains on the celings and walls, peeling paint and/or a wet mouldy damp smell.

    Also ensure that there is adequate ventilation and that there is a clothes line outside or a dryer inside. Drying clothes on radiators can increase humidity levels by 30% making the room an ideal breeding ground for mould spores etc.
