The impending arrival of essay results always induces a mixture of emotions. The main emotion is excitement at the prospect of a good pass and excellent feedback. However, for me, it is also tinged with a touch of fear due to the fact that it was only the fourth essay that I have ever written.
The subject of these emotions was the Classical Archaeology module assignment, an essay of 3000 words which was due by 2359hrs on the 6th January. We choose the title from a short list and my choice was “What archaeological evidence would you use to try to reconstruct patterns of Roman trade? Why is this important and what can it tell us?”
I found the subject absolutely fascinating and I immersed myself in reading around the subject helped by the 20+ books from the Uni library plus all the journals and on line titles that we can access. I am finding that establishing the structure of the essay is vital and something that I need to work on. Fingers and everything else are crossed!
PS. The result in in and I got 65, this is a decent pass but, my lowest score to date. I know what I have to do, keep following this blog to see if I achieve it!
