I would normally assume that the person asking this question would be over 20 years of age at the very least so I was in for a surprise when I came across the story of Eugenie de Silva. At the ae of 15 she is starting a PhD. Impressive! I came across the story on the University of Leicester news bulletin webpage as she is going to start her PhD at the University of Leicester with Professor Mark Phythian, head of the politics and international relations department, as her supervisor. Apparently she came across some of his work during her previous studies and decided to pursue a PhD with him in the area of “denial and deception in World War Two”. Sounds interesting at least. A warm welcome to you Eugenie de Silva and I hope you enjoy studying with us!
