This week’s post is going to focus on all the lovely things I am looking forward to once exam season is over. We all have those objects that we regard as lights at the end of the tunnel – things that motivate us to push through those endless groups of notes and cuecards – and these are a few of mine.
Enjoy! And do let me know about yours also – especially if they correspond with any of my post-exam motivations.

Cinema and Television
If you read this blog enough, you will know about my love for all things screen-related! Unfortunately, with the pressure of four 3hr+ examinations on my head, I haven’t been able to spare enough time to pay a visit to the pictures. However, there are some exciting summer blockbusters that I am looking forward to! The one that I am waiting around for especially is Blade Runner 2049. The new trailer looks amazing and because it is a sequel, I should have time to refresh my memory by re-watching the original.
I am loving the persistent offering of sci-fi movies recently – even if a lot of them seem to be about robots taking over the world.
In terms of television, I always survive exam seasons through watching comedies, so thankfully a lot of my favourites have come back this month. I will recommend Veep to anybody who hasn’t seen it yet!
Books
Books! When was the last time anybody at university read something unrelated to their course?
I can tell you, it is going to be such a joy actually picking up a text that isn’t related to the human anatomy or disease. I am currently a quarter through a book called Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien. Although it has been a good month since I last read a page, it is beautifully written. If you are the type of reader that enjoys a bit of history entwined with prose, then I highly recommend it.
Graduation (hopefully!)
I registered for tickets a few days ago and it was terrifying. Honestly, who prepares you for that graduation email? I don’t think I will believe it is happening until it is actually happening. Plus, when you have exams, anything that is happening beyond this month is a little blurred out by the stress of studying and sitting them. However, I am genuinely looking forward to it and I will be sure to tell you guys how it all goes.
Travel
This summer is going to be a busy one for me! I have a summer holiday in an undecided European Location to look forward to – alongside the usual family getaway. This year, my parents have been extra amazing and extended our holiday to include South Korea. So I shall be venturing out there for the first time! I love going to new places, especially when it involves eating lots of new food. There is some waiting time in between, so I am still contemplating how to fill in the rest of the summer and whether more travel can be factored in.
K-Pop
Long-story short: when you’re a K-Pop fan, you have a favourite group and they stage a comeback (i.e. come back with new music) a few times a year, and my favourites are hopefully going to return in the next month. So, that is definitely up there in terms of things that will give me strength throughout this exam period!

So that is it for now guys. By this time next week, I would’ve been halfway through my set of four exams which is scary. Until then, good luck with all of yours, try your best and keep your heads up! Also, I will leave you all with a song that has gotten me through many exam seasons!
Best of luck!
