It’s the Fresher’s rerun that happens every January after exams, and let’s be honest it’s a bit of a let down in comparison!
BUT despite everyone being a bit too tired after exams to relive the full craziness of Freshers, this week is still great for a few reasons:
- You can join a new society/club and the chances are other people will be doing the same so you won’t be the only new person. By this time in the year you know what time you have and are more likely to actually try the clubs you sign up to. Lots of clubs run taster sessions again so you can try them for a reduced rate and see if you like them (why not give Equestrian a go? And yes that is a biased suggestion but we are the best club!) .
- Socials start again for a lot of clubs and you’re Wednesday nights can once again be filled with crazy fancy dress, and if you’re unlucky like me, resent towards your Thursday 9am lecture!
- Refreshers is also a great time to look at volunteering opportunities within Leicester, there are so many great causes! Check out the SU volunteering page.
- Normally the first few weeks are a bit quieter so why not start getting into a routine of going to the gym, doing work and eating healthily… basically make time for the things that are good for you! If you start doing these things now you will be more likely to keep them up throughout the term when things get busier!
So make the most of Refreshers and enjoy being free from exams for a while!
