It’s that time of year when students start looking for next years houses (look out for my post about what to look for in a student house soon) and Clarendon Park is a really popular student are in Leicester! It’s a lovely area of Leicester, with some cute independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
I wanted to share with you my top 3 recommendations for places to eat in Clarendon:
- Halcyon Kitchen – this is a great place for brunch and has some great vegetarian options! My personal favourites are the Avocado Toast and the Eggs Florentine. They also have some amazing hot chocolates and iced coffees!! If brunch isn’t your thing, there’s a great lunch and dinner menu including lot’s of lovely stonebaked pizzas! The décor is cosy and there’s some comfy sofas, as well as tables, which gives Halcyon a really relaxed vibe.
- Barceloneta – A Spanish style tapas restaurant, with SO MANY OPTIONS! I am always spoilt for choice here and they have a great selection of vegetarian options! I love the way that tapas means you get to try lots of different dishes and Barceloneta do a great 2 for £11.95 or 3 for £14.50 offer on some nights! If this isn’t enough to convince you they also have amazing Sangria (which you can get a jug of for the table).
- The Cradock Arms (technically in Knighton, but it’s just past the end of Queen’s Road) – This is a really nice eating pub and has a great menu with pub classics, burgers and a great specials board. I like this pub because it doesn’t feel like it should be in the middle of a city, it’s spacious and has a nice garden to sit out in when it’s not so cold! It’s pretty reasonably priced and also does a great Pub Quiz on a Tuesday evening!
I love all three of these restaurants and hope you will too, so go and check them out!!
