In the last couple of months I’ve been to San Carlo twice to celebrate some of my medic friends finishing finals and for a different friends 21st! So I thought I’d write a post about my experience of the restaurant!
Located on Granby Street, this is one of a chain of restaurants with several located across the country and now with an increasing number overseas. The first restaurant opened in Birmingham in 1992, with others including Leicester opening after that.
The interior is beautifully decorated with an array of plants hanging from the ceiling and placed around the restaurant. It certainly has the right atmosphere for a special occasion dinner.
And the food? It’s pretty good, Ive had the spinach and ricotta canelloni, and also the vegetable calzone. Both have been lovely. They also have some nice wines which aren’t too expensive actually. Although on the subject of the cost, I would say that the food is fairly expensive compared to other restaurants in Leicester that I normally go to so it is more of a special occasion place! The staff are always really good and attentive too.
So overall this is a nice restaurant if you are looking for somewhere a bit more up market!
