On Monday I finished my last final year exam. Its been a long year and lot of hard work, let’s hope it all pays off when results day comes around in a few weeks.
As I’m sure you can guess I’ve spent the last week celebrating and its been a lot of fun!
After my last exam I met some friends at Bar Dos on Queens Road in Clarendon Park for some cocktails (2 for 1 on Mondays) and then we headed into town for a meal at Casa Romana. I really like this restaurant and definitely recommend it if you are looking for a nice Italian restaurant in Leicester! After dinner we went to The Gadabout for some more cocktails. The staff here are really helpful and the drinks are great, my only complaint if that the ‘travel magazine’ menu is a bit confusing and I would prefer a normal menu.
This week I’ve also been to Mrs Bridges for brunch, I love this cafe and its a great choice if you’re a veggie like me. Its also very reasonably priced and has a really cute courtyard to sit in if the weathers nice.
There’s also been a couple of visits to The Old Horse on London Road and The Cradock, which are too of my favourite ‘pub’ pubs in Leicester. Both are reasonably priced and have decent pub food with nice beer gardens. The Cradock is more of a country gasto pub feel, whilst The Old Horse is more of a traditional pub. Although the latter has been refurbished recently and seems to be becoming more like The Loaded Dog and is a lot less quirky than it used to be in terms of the decor.
Finally, theres of course been a few post exam nights out, including my last ever O2 uni night ?.
Its been a great week with lot of amazing friends and has been the perfect way to end the last three years at uni before I head off travelling for a bit! Keep your eyes out for a post about where I visit and what I get up to soon!!
See you soon Leicester,
B x
