I hope everyone had a great Christmas (I know it’s not quite over yet!) and you have a fun new year, however you plan to celebrate it. My family and I were a little spoilt this year as my brother entertained us at his pub (which was shut on Christmas day, so we took over!). He cooked the food and we brought presents and the Christmas spirit with us. It was a great day, and lovely to have so much space to all hang out together. It definitely kept it amicable, when the drink had been flowing a few hours!
Even though it’s the festive season, I have been attempting to finish up my revision notes in time for my return to Leicester, and have a proper look at job prospects for next year… In the last week of term I had a 10minute careers meeting with Professor Hillman (who’s in charge of careers in the chemistry department) about what we wanted to do in the future, and what we’d done about it. I admitted I hadn’t done half as much as I should have by now! But I had taken the prospects quiz online and done some rough job searching, so I’m heading in the right direction (or so I’m told!), I just need to be more direct and get my CV up to scratch to apply for jobs and graduate schemes.
But enough of that for now… enjoy the New Year and good luck for anyone who’s revising (like me…) for January exams. I know it’s hard but take lots of little breaks and try not to get too stressed out!
