One exam down and one to go! That’s all I’ve been thinking since Tuesday, 12.12pm when I got out of my Advanced Organic Chemistry exam. There had already been a bit of drama, what with a mysterious alarm going off (only on the 2nd floor, Charles Wilson building), an hour and a half in, making us all stop and evacuate to the bottom floor until the alarm stopped. We never did find out what it was either…
Fellow chemists and I have been camped out in Chemistry and Charles Wilson revising for the past few weeks – although I have to admit not all of that time has been spent productively! There has been a lot of joking around, watching YouTube videos and trawling through Facebook pages as forms of procrastination… but last night it hit its peak, with us spending about four hours just chatting about all the mad things we did instead of the actual experiments we were meant to be doing in science lessons back in secondary school. We reflected upon the fact that if we did that sort of thing at University we’d have probably killed ourselves a few times over by now, and half the department with us. University chemicals are way more dangerous than school ones.
Cooking hasn’t been terribly high on the agenda either so there has been a domino’s pizza run as a revision break, which earned us lots of jealous looks from the rest of the students within the room that night – making it taste all the better was the half price deal and extra garlic dip.
After Saturday it will be over however, and hopefully I’ll be heading out to see The Hobbit (again) as a celebration. Hope the exam period has gone well for everyone, and the snow doesn’t affect you too much!
