Lost Skills

Okay hi,

So as I’ve previously mentioned, I’m doing a research project at the moment. However, accompanying that, I also have to write a dissertation based upon the findings of this project. As someone who hasn’t really written essays for the last 3 years, this is in itself quite a challenge.

We’ve done lab reports and stuff before, but part of the reason I chose to do a science subject is to escape essays. Thus far, I have written the majority of an introduction and almost completed the lab work, so I have to write up stuff all about that, and to discuss and analyse the results. I was hoping to get about two thirds of that done by we break up for Christmas a couple of weeks ago, but that doesn’t look like a likely prospect.

That’s often a thing I have found over the last few years though. It’s easy to expect too much of yourself, especially if you’re like me with my dissertation and you haven’t done something for a while, and expect to immediately be at a similar level to when you left off. Sometimes, though, you just have to give yourself a break and not give up.
