Much has happened since my last blog, however there has been good reason for this! As of Tuesday 15th March I have now finished University! With two essays and my dissertation handed in, and with no exams for my modules, I have finished my third and final year of studying! 17,000 words, done!
The last 6 weeks with my dissertation and the final two essays have probably been the hardest of my degree, yet at the same time it hasn’t been as bad as I had anticipated! Looking forward to finishing helped, but becoming so immersed in what I was studying and with a couple of motivational songs on repeat I managed to get home and dry!
I can safely say however, I am quite glad I will not have to go back to the library any time soon! With no outstanding work, periods like this in the academic calendar enable student’s time to be spent doing other things. In the next 6 or so weeks I have in Leicester, I hope to make the most of it! There are exciting events coming up such as the Annual Summerfestiball towards the end of term, a huge Kasabian gig and of course the World Cup!
Leicester has a great buzz around it in the summer, especially Victoria Park which becomes besieged by students soaking up the sun and the ice cream vans which duly follow.
My next blog will talk about the amazing month that Leicester as a city has just had, following several successes.
But first, celebrations are in order!
Thanks for reading, Tom.
