With exams and deadlines finally becoming a reality, this month at university has been the most stressful this term. But breaks are necessary to prevent meltdown! So, I’ve been occasionally treating myself to films, which I’ve tried to keep course related!
Although breaks are just as good alone, I usually watch movies with my housemates so we all get a break! Recently, we watched (tried to watch) Silence of the Lambs, but this was on Leicester-winning-the-Premier-League night so things got a little distracting. However, if the plan had gone well, it would have been appropriate for my essay about offender profiling! Watching the BBC programme Line of Duty has been quite helpful for my essay on police corruption, too, as it helps to give me ideas which I can then research from academic sources.
I find one of the great things about Criminology is the scope of fictional media that can, on some level, count as revision… So it feels like breaks are still educational and it takes the edge off the guilt… But sometimes, watching completely unrelated things like Harry Potter can be an extra good break that I take as a reward!
