Following a post by Frances, I too must comment on FutureLearn.
As a Distance Learning student of the University of Leicester the medium of the internet is vital to extending my knowledge – and this will apply also to many other students on Criminology and Security modules who are located around the globe – my colleagues on this journey.
My undergraduate studies were conducted online through the Open University in the UK (although it operates worldwide). The University of Leicester also operates via the internet bringing together students across the globe.
But FutureLearn is a valuable and skillfully constructed starter resource which is well-placed to give a ‘taste’ of future further education and a glimpse of what university education would provide. FutureLearn has a range of courses and programs containing modules which – when combined – can add toward university credit at a lower level. Their offerings are tailored to suit a range of tastes aspirations in further education or just for the casual learner. Available online, it is a great resource available globally. I cannot recommend it enough!
Why not just check it out? It may lead to something else … https://www.futurelearn.com/courses
