A Special Day or A Special Dessert?
February 14th is a unique day.
Whether you are single or in a relationship and whether you are happy or unhappy about either scenario does partly impact on your opinion of the day. And whichever of those four scenarios it is, it’s very hard to escape the day completely. Unless you are prepared to avoid other people or turning on the news, listening to the radio or visiting any websites. Very few people have the required focus to be able to do that.
For those of you, who like me, are single, not especially happy about that, and are likely to spend at least part of tomorrow feeling sad about that fact, I have a simple piece of advice: if you can’t take pride in having a partner / spouse that you love, take pride in something or someone you do love. It could be your parents, a sibling, a very close friend, your teammates, your pet, your degree, a film, a television show, a book. Anything. There are so many different types of love.
Some people love food. Other people love specific foods. And a few people love one specific meal but not all meals. Then there are those who love specific courses. If you are someone that prefers desserts to main courses then this is the blog post for you!
There are three places in Leicester that specialise in serving delicious desserts: Heavenly Desserts, Doorstep Desserts and Sundaes Gelato.

Just look at those pictures, especially on the Heavenly Desserts website!
I’m not going to rank them, nor am I going to say that one is better than the others. All I will say is that I’ve been to them all once and had a great dessert at all three. So if you love desserts and want to treat yourself on Valentine ’s Day, you now know where to go.
Just another reason that makes Leicester a great place to study – who would ever say you cannot have your cake and eat it?
