The new term starts today!! Exams are finally over. All in all, I think mine could have gone a lot worse. The last exam for me was Materials and it was the one I was least prepared for. It was also the day after my birthday. So as you can imagine, I had a pretty miserable birthday. Apart from an essential homemade pizza making session with my housemates, I was cramming from 8am to late. The exam was pretty good to be fair. It was a blackboard test so I got my mark back strait away- 79%. Later that evening we got a blackboard notification and my mark had been increased to 84%, no doubt there was an error in one of the questions. 84% I am very pleased with as if I’d got a rubbish mark after destroying my birthday I would have been pretty annoyed.
I’m determined to make this term count now and avoid the last minute revision rush I’m so used to. I’m actually pretty excited about this term. It’s pretty crammed with plenty of 9 till 5s, but with my embedded systems getting really investing as we make more complex systems and our remote control weight depositor in the design module actually getting to be made after so long planning, there’s a lot to keep it engaging.
I’ve realised engineering is actually not a difficult course, provided you do a little and often. Attend the lectures, (even the 9ams!) keep notes up to date and do practice questions and it really isn’t that bad. That’s what I’m going to try and do. My new term’s resolution
I hope your exams went well if you had them. Don’t forget refreshers fair is on till 4 today, with lots of events and stands in the SU and elsewhere and is well worth a gander.
Let’s see how the new term goes!
