I have now officially returned to Leicester for my third and final year! I have settled back into my little house in lovely Clarendon Park and am enjoying a very lazy week of no lectures and crashing the Freshers Fortnight events. It seems so little time ago that I was Fresher, I can’t believe I’m starting my last year now. They say time flies when you’re having fun and so far I have had the most amazing time here in Leicester, which must account for the alarming speed with which two years here have whizzed by.
But, despite my trepidation about finishing uni and being launched into the real world, I am looking forward to this year. For the first time we get to chose two optional modules. I’m particularly looking forward to Contemporary Women’s Writing because Bridget Jones’ Diary is on the reading list! And, in keeping with the stereotypes surrounding an English degree, I only have 5 contact hours a week this year. Yes, I will have tons of reading and essay writing but I can schedule that whenever I want rather than being bound to a timetable. I can even do all my reading in bed which is very appealing during the chilly winter months.
I think this year may even turn out to be my best yet.
