This term has whizzed by, not helped by Easter being so early! Because of the extra early holiday we only managed to fit in 8 weeks of the second semester, so after the holidays we have to finish off the last two weeks. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean that Easter work load will be pushed back. I’ve got a lot of work to do, as well as a lot of fun to be had!
My Easter break has two distinct stages:
Tomorrow I am going on tour with the cheerleaders. Tour is basically a sports holiday. I will be boarding a coach at 6:40am with 25 other cheerleaders to travel for 27 hours to Porec in Croatia for 4 days of cheering, partying and hopefully sunning! It will be a very well-earned break after my busy term!
However, after that week off, we get to stage two of the break – essays. I have two essays to write, one for the core module, Post-War to Postmodern, which is 3000 words long and one for my special subject, Tragedy, which is 4000 words long. After much deliberation I have decided to write my Post-War to Postmodern essay on a feminist theme – how female identity is formed – using Angela Carter and Jeanette Winterson. For my Tragedy essay I am going to look at how the natural world, especially the conception of the universe, intensifies tragic drama. I’m 99% certain that I’m going to use Shakespeare’s King Lear and Seneca’s Oedipus for this essay.
But first, TOUR!
