So it’s that time of the year again where I have to start preparing for uni, and in a few days’ time I’ll be in Leicester.
I’ve already bought all my stationary, taken all my kitchen utensils out of the shed in the backyard, bought most of my books from the reading list of my courses, and I’ve even started packing my suitcase with my winter clothes.
I’ve missed Leicester so much during my year abroad and I am looking forward to going back, to starting my final year. I’m looking forward to being a Leicester ambassador again, to High Cross and the city centre, I’m looking forward to the societies that weren’t available in France. I’m looking forward to my lecturers and tutors, because I know that they are not only experts on their field, but they genuinely enjoy teaching. I’m looking forward to the pater noster in the Attenborough building, and I’m looking forward to chocolate cake from the library café. There so much of Leicester that I’ve missed and can’t wait to see when I get back on Sunday.
I feel that my year abroad has opened my eyes to all the wonderful things in Leicester that I first took for granted. It also helped me to grow and mature into the person I am today. I can’t wait to be back in Leicester!
