So I’ve been in Leicester for almost a week and I’m so glad to be back. I’ve missed Leicester more than I originally thought. Leicester is so beautiful, the city centre is full of cute little boutiques hidden in little streets. And there’s so many healthy food places that were not here during my second year. There is also High Cross shopping centre, which I love. I love the fact that it has all the big named shops and restaurants that London has, so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything when I’m not at home in London.
The thing that I’ve missed the most is Leicester Market. I love the market, I love all the cheap fruits and vegetables and the fact that it’s open almost every day (except Sundays). I love the indoor fish/meat market, and how reasonable the prices are.
And then there’s the university. Being back on campus gives me chills. After spending a year at the University of Strasbourg, It’s good to be back in my own university, to know where everything is and which buildings are used for what. The building that I missed the most is the David Wilson Library. In Strasbourg, the university library was so old fashion and it closed at 10pm. I’m missed the 24 hours library service that Leicester provides, and especially since I’m in my final year I’m going to be spending a lot of time in the library.
