There is literally nothing I love more on this planet than food and Leicester has some real gems when it comes to eating out whatever you’re feeling. Eating out is one of my favourite things to do to destress when I’m overloaded with uni work, so I thought that my recommendations would be appropriate for upcoming exam seasons.
Heavenly Desserts, London Road
You can’t really consider yourself a real Leicester student if you haven’t been to Heavenly. I have the biggest sweet tooth and could eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so this is a personal favourite of mine. The menu is huge, you can pretty much have any variation of sundae, cookie dough, waffle or crêpe, its amazing!
Boo Burger, London Road
There’s so many chain burger restaurants to choose from in Leicester, but if you fancy something a little different Boo burger is delicious. The meat quality is amazing and its so reasonably priced, perfect for a quick lunch in between lectures or if you’re on your way to town.
Konak, London Road
This is a relatively new one to me. It’s Turkish food so its great if you don’t fancy the usual pizza or burger and chips. I had the lamb shish and lamb kofte and it was delicious. We also got 2 baskets of free bread which will always go down well with me.
St Martin’s Coffee, St Martins Square
This is also a perfect lunch spot, I took my Mum a few weeks ago and she loved it just as much as me. The atmosphere is so nice in here and the food is lovely. I definitely recommend trying the fries with aioli and the grilled triple cheese sourdough.
Skylark Bakery, Clarendon Park Road
This is one for the cupcake lovers, the cupcakes here are amazing. They’re so beautifully decorated and the flavours are amazing. If you fancy an easy, cheap treat as opposed to a meal out then this little place is so perfect. Writing this has actually reminded me I need to go get some cupcakes asap!
