In my last blog, I talked about how thankful I was that I plucked up the courage to join the LuTheatre society, and that I had a blast finding a new hobby in acting, playing Timms in The History Boys. What I failed to include, however, was that during rehearsal period, our cast actually took a trip together, travelling from Leicester to Sheffield.
Why Sheffield? It was actually a tactical choice on the part of our directors. The History Boys is set in South Yorkshire – Sheffield, specifically – and we had to put on a Northern accent for the production, for authenticity, because location is such an important part of the play. Therefore, we thought that having a day-trip to Sheffield would help us along with the accent!
So, here is my vlog of our time in Sheffield, exploring the city, as a lot of us had never been before. One thing I’m starting to realise with these University trips, is that the north is a big fan of trams.
