Hands up who saw The Stone Roses at the weekend … you can’t see me but I have both my hands in the air !
Sunday evening was fantastic, amazing in fact, and I don’t use that word lightly, not like every student, TV presenter and radio DJ who seem to know only one adjective, and it’s that one … AMAZING !
The Wailers minus Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and the rest, so not really the Wailers but lovely all the same, Plan B doing karaoke and a few of his own hits, and the seminal Manchester band The Stone Roses … you might remember I told you that I won an award that entitled me to not feel guilty about the ticket price … hoorah !
Other humorous anecdotes from this week … I filled out all the online forms for my graduation, cap and gown and photos and all that … sorted ! The CAPTCHA code thing i had to fill in to verify I was a human – and not a robot cruising the internet filling in forms – was “8tbagin” which is funny on two levels, first because it almost says “Teabaggin'”, and also as well, that was the name of my short film project that I made in the second year Film Production module … imagine that ! I actually own some University of Leicester headed paper and a DVD with the logo on it and latin motto and everything that says the words “Matthew Henshaw” … “Teabaggin'” … easily my most subversive act as a University of Leicester student … ha ha!
I’m sure the Student Recruitment Office is rather pleased that this blog has been quite reserved thus far … my nickname amongst the Art staff at my secondary school was Sid James …
Anyways, all the best, graduation next Tuesday, I’ll be there with bells and whistles on, on second thoughts, scrap the bells and whistles, I couldn’t think of anything worse that noisy and heavy metallic garments to wear, I’ll stick to the gap and gown … I hope the weather’s nice …
