After spending a couple of weeks in bed and disastrously ill, I’ve finally started enjoying my Easter break! I’ve always been a huge fan of animals, and living on the edge of open fields I’m always comfortable in a farm yard…well, apart from around chickens, but that’s another story. So, that’s exactly what I did; I spent an afternoon feeding a huge array of animals, in the sunshine that has finally decided to reach the north of England.
Although there is nothing I can really say in terms of something constructive, it really gave me an appreciation of how calming and enjoyable time with animals can be. I’ve never attended the puppy petting sessions run by the Student’s Union (yes, that’s really a thing!), but I think I might give it a try, especially with my exam coming up towards the end of May. I think it could be beneficial; if I can have a billy goat falling asleep, head resting on my arm, maybe it’s something that just suits me.
I also went to see Fall Out Boy in concert, which was utterly amazing, even if I did lose my voice for three days afterwards. Generally I’m just really enjoying some time to rest and relax; doing the things I never get time to do, like painting and spending time planning my Disney adventure. Seeing friends from my home town has really motivated me, and I don’t feel so burnt out. These past couple of weeks have really shown me the importance of taking breaks to keep yourself going, and actually keeping yourself mentally and physically happy.
I hope you all enjoy these few pictures of the gorgeous animals I had the privilege to meet,
