I guess I should start this post by saying that working for Disney has been a crazy experience so far; it’s tiring and sometimes stressful but so magical and completely worth it!
So to get you up to speed; I moved into my accommodation on the 18th of June, a six person three bedroom apartment, which was my top choice, so naturally I was pleased! In my apartment there are two of us from the England, one girl from Hong Kong, and finally three from the US. We’re all doing different roles however somehow me and my fellow English participant are both working in Tomorrowland attractions, even on the same ride. I’m so excited to announce that as of tomorrow I will be training on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, which is one of my favourite rides in the Magic Kingdom and quite possibly across all the parks.
Over the last two weeks I have been participating in training, surrounding Disney’s core values (known as the four keys), as well as getting to know Tomorrowland and the Magic Kingdom a lot better; my directional knowledge is getting stronger by the day, maps seem very unpopular nowadays which is a shame. I’ve also been bonding with lots of new people, as well as finally meeting those who I’ve spoken to for months. I’ve been to a few parties and played in Animal Kingdom but I’m still very much getting used to things.
Early starts are not my favourite, I’ve been getting up as early as 4:30am on certain days and not returning home until after midnight. The weather is also pretty crazy, I worked in ankle deep rainwater yesterday and then had glorious sunshine this morning, so it’s always good to always be prepared with sun cream and a good rain coat! Overall however, my time so far has been amazing, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of my adventure will bring.
Take Care Everyone, I’ll Speak to You All Soon!
