Happy Easter weekend everyone, I hope you’re all having a lovely time, especially with all the sunshine! This is just a quick update on where I’m at, particularly in terms of my university work; and of course, forever highlighting the importance of taking breaks here and there.
As I’m writing this, I am sat in my bedroom, at my parent’s house, or rather my home again, with the windows flung open, simply enjoying the warmer weather. I’m in the middle of a three day break I’ve given myself, before cracking on with my dissertation again, which has been hard going to say the least. However I have been making really good progress and should (fingers crossed) have it finished by the end of next week. Having said that, I’m definitely feeling burnt out, and although I’m absolutely going to give this last two weeks (or rather 13 days to be precise) my all I’m definitely ready for the freedom on the other side. So, to anyone currently in the midst of their dissertation, work hard but be kind to yourself; your best work comes when you’re in a good place!
I feel very fortunate to not have any exams this semester, not a surprise since I selected all my modules, but nice nonetheless; however, knowing that my university journey, other than graduation, will be over in the first week of May is pretty daunting…or rather daunting after the first few weeks of pure elation to have all my work done, with the prospect of true adult life setting in. Having said that, like I said in a post a couple of weeks ago, I’m ready for a break from education. Equally unique about my situation is that I’ve actually already permanently moved back home, so I’m feeling somewhat detached from Leicester, but in terms of getting my work done I’m way better off here.
In my next post normal service will resume, but I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick little update with me, as admittedly nothing much else has been on my mind other than my dissertation. I’m planning to talk about dissertations in a post soon, probably talking about my personal experience as well as giving some advice too for anyone curious about the process of planning and writing a dissertation.
Take Care Everyone, I’ll Speak to You All Soon!
