Having finished university on Friday, I spent the weekend catching up with friends, having a movie night and takeaway on Saturday for example – Leicester is very good for Indian takeaways and restaurants, something I will definitely miss having moved back home as I love Indian food. I will be taking my parents for one last Indian dinner on my graduation to a restaurant called Kayal – it is an Indian restaurant but does different food to your normal curry, which is really nice, I would recommend it 🙂
Then as it was the bank holiday weekend my parents were able to come up to Leicester to help me move all my stuff back home. I had taken a lot of my clothes and things back home at Easter, but I still had a lot to bring home. It was a long day, I had to pack absolutely everything into boxes, clean the whole place, drive 2.5 hours home, and then unpack everything, so it was tiring. The worst was taking down all of my photographs – I had a lot on my bedroom wall which have built up over my three years at university, so there was a lot of white tac to remove!
I was actually quite looking forward to being home, as I have a masters degree to look forward to next year, and it means I am closer to my boyfriend who lives at home. However some of my friends are not so happy to be going back home as they will be losing some of their independence. But either way it is sad leaving the place you have lived for three years. Leicester is a lovely city and a lovely university, so I will definitely be looking forward to going back again for my graduation soon.
