One thing you should know about me, I love trying new things. This week I went to two different cafés to have a nice cup of coffee. My favourite is a chai latte, I am a massive fan of it as it is sweeter than normal latte (I would recommend it).
The first café I went to was 6 degrees located on London road. The true beauty behind this café is that profits goes to charity and the workers are volunteers. Tell me how amazing that is? I’ve been to this café couple of times and I have never been let down. The setting of the café was cosy and a scene where you could spend the whole day.
I ordered a chai latte and a maple cake whilst my friend ordered a hot chocolate and a maple cake. OH MY GOD! The cake is too die for, it was so fresh and spongy. Every single bite, melted in my mouth and once I had finished it, I was so upset! I also ordered food because I was hungry and it was lunch time. I ordered a falafel, hummus and sun dried tomatoes toasted wholegrain bread. Yes, I know. Even reading it, makes your mouth water. The first bite into the sandwich, I was thinking where have I been? The combination was out of the world and it was definitely tasty.
The second café I went to this week was Dolce and Verde on Belvoir street. Before I comment on this café, let me say this, I walk past it mostly everyday and I always tell myself I will purchase a coffee from there. I have been saying this for 4 months and look here we are in February. If you want to try something or go somewhere, just do it and enjoy the experience. Back to the café, when you walk past it, there is a vintage and cosy feeling to it.
Unfortunately, I did not have my chai latte there as I took it away because it was closing and it was snowing. It would have been cute if I went there before closing hours and watched the snow falling outside the window. The scenery in this café was very cosy with pillows on the side and sofas. The café is certainly a place to study or hang out with friends as it is on a quiet street.
Overall, I would recommend these two places to anyone as it is a nice relaxing environment. It is also a great place to study and do some essays.
Take care,
Simran
