This week has been a busy one with lots of work and lots of fun.
Work-wise- lots of seminar reading and an essay on the presentation I did last week on ‘The Communist Manifesto‘ kept me busy. This all took up my time during the day and in the evening I luckily went out for some awesome meals… which, though meals out aren’t very student like, were really fun.. My friend even beat the 15 minute challenge!
To end the good, but busy week, I was encouraged to come to the beer festival that visits Leicester every year. So we set off on a long walk across Leicester that at points made us worry we were lost- but eventually we ended up in a very small hall that was full with barrels.
This year’s festival was in honour of Charles Dickens so the glasses we got celebrated him…
and some of the drinks were named after his work and characters such as ‘Great Expectation’ and ‘O Liver Twist’. As well as this there was also information about Dickens around.
I think the best way to explain the festival is probably to show you pictures so here goes-
Some of the drinks had really great names so it often took a long time to pick a good one
At one point all the lights went out and we were not sure if it was part of the whole thing as people started cheering… but it turned out the lights just stopped working for a bit.
I thought this bunting was awesome and really wanted some!
All in all I had a really great week and I hope this one will be as equally interesting. However, I doubt there will be as many meals out this week unfortunately.
