The title of this blog may seem a bit 90’s, but that is because I’ve named it after my friends’ 90’s inspired Christmas song. You can hear the song by clicking HERE, but be warned it is incredibly cheesy… but brilliant. My entire house have been singing it for the last week.
I thought as the holiday seasons is drawing in I’d write a little bit about what it is like to be finishing a semester at university. I can whittle it down to one word ‘work’, but I’ll elaborate.
I’ve had three essays due in in a two week period, and that has kept me extremely busy as not only have I been doing them, but there is also reading for seminars, and as I am a third year I’ve also been dipping in and out of work on my dissertation. That is the sad life for many students who find themselves taking essay subjects- you get a lot of essays and they never come at the most convenient time. I’ve been trying all semester to start these essays and get working on them, but it has been difficult as I struggled with the joys of procrastination and not being far enough into the course to understand what the essay is on.
Either way most essays have been done now and only one essay left to go… so wish me luck.
But as they say… all work and no play makes Grace a dull girl, so I have been trying to mix work with some form of Christmas fun. So on Sunday me and some of my friends went to our local pub for a good old carvery, turkey of course. It was really nice to catch up and celebrate before we do this last burst of essays and go home.
