So it’s been a while since I have done a lovely quote about History, and I thought why not?
This one is from a book by Julian Barnes called England, England, which I have mentioned in a previous post. It’s a weird book, but interesting in trying to understand how we view history.
‘It was like a country remembering its history: past was never the past, it was what made the present able to live with itself.’
I really like this quote because it is how history is used by a country to define itself.
