Leicester’s History

After my exams finished I went to discover a corner of Leicester I’d never been to before.
I went to see the Roman Baths. It was really interesting to see the foundations of the baths and imagine yourself there, thousands of years ago.
The baths is next to the Jewry Wall Museum (so named because of the Jewry Wall the contains the two arches of the baths). A few weeks ago I volunteered at this museum. I spent most of the day at the crafts table making dinosaur puppets and badges with children (it was shortly after St George’s Day).
Then I went for a walk to the Castle Gardens. It was beautiful. Right by the River Soar, there was an abundance of flowers and plants, and picnic benches. I learnt about the old motte and bailey and stood at the top and looked at the view.
There’s a lot that Leicester has to offer!
