Everyone’s probably seen at least one of those cliched ‘New Year, New Me’ statuses on social media so far – am I right?
My resolution, however, is to keep doing what I’ve been doing so far! I’m feeling in a really good place at the moment, especially with all the academic stuff, so really I just want to keep that going.
So what have I been doing, you may ask?
First and foremost, I’ve been revising for my exam that’s on January 15th. I’ve covered my walls with posters and post it notes designed to get as much information as possible into my head! I’ve also been completing practice answers to past exam questions and just general had my nose in any book related to the topic.
Alongside that, I’ve been working on my dissertation. I’ve got a presentation due about it in late January, so I’ve tried to keep on top that as much as possible during the festive period. It would have been really easy to do nothing and relax but I’ve pushed myself hard, which I’m very proud of.
So I really want to keep up this good work ethic that I’ve developed over the last three years. I want to keep going so that I can achieve the first class degree I’ve always dreamed of and get onto a masters course!
But also, I want to continue enjoying everything that I’m doing. I’ve managed to reunite with a lot of my friends from home, which has been lovely, as well as researching topics I’m really interested in and enthused by – particularly my dissertation of course.
Everyone says third year is incredibly stressful, which I have found to be true on many occasions! But I’ve also found it to be the most enjoyable so far – long may it continue 🙂
P.S. Happy New Year!!!
