As I told you in my last post, my first exam was the gobbet paper! I definitely had some reservations and worries about the exam before I went in, but I always find that these go away as soon as you start writing!
Like I said last time, I was most nervous about the exam timings as the gobbet paper was a new format for me to get used to! This anxiety was something that definitely kept me on my toes time wise during the exam, so perhaps it was helpful in that sense.
Overall I think the exam went well, as I was able to finish all four commentaries and felt that I had a lot of relevant information to include in my answers. It is always difficult to know how you’ve done in an exam, and I certainly wouldn’t like to guess, but I’m confident that I produced the best that I could!
Something that did throw me off slightly in this exam were the sources that I had to comment on. I had quite a clear idea of what these sources might be, based on past papers, but they were completely different! I did have a momentary panic but then I realised that there were still plenty of things that I was capable of commenting on, so disaster was averted.
There was no time to relax after this exam though, as I had my second exam (which I’ll tell you about next) in two days time!
