I’ve spent today drinking £1 smoothies, chatting about mental health, and eating free brownies. I decided to forgo the Tai Chi and do yoga in my room instead, but apart from that I’m getting into the swing of the uni’s wellbeing week. The point of this is that every part of the uni that aims to improve people’s health and happiness in some way has a chance to showcase itself – it’s basically the stuff that goes on all the time, but condensed into one week. There are loads of events, and it happily coincides with Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
Here is a picture of my friend Lucy’s dog to symbolise happiness, and here’s a breakdown of everything that’s going on in the uni this week:
Monday evening –
Craft session by Student Support Services in the Yellow Room – 11am-2pm
Schools Workshops in the Alumni Room 12:30-3pm
‘Be-Leaf in Yourself’ (arts, crafts, cooking, chill-out) by Hungry For Change at Brookfield Plot 12-4pm
Water Stall by UoL Sport and Rec in the SU Square – 12-2pm
Laces Campaign for sports teams by Mental Health Charity – afternoon
Tea and Toast after LetsDisko by Nightline outside the O2 Academy
‘The Time of Your Life’ by Caravan Theatre Company – 12pm-4pm
Information stall by Mental Health Awareness and Support Society in the SU Square – 11am – 3pm
My next post in a couple of days will be about little suggestions for better wellbeing you can get involved with all year round. Get involved, and have a great week.
