You know you’re an adult when your best friend gets excited about the fact you bought her a blender, of all things, for her 21st.
You also know you’re an adult when you manage to submit your dissertation a full ten days before the deadline. Not to boast, but I’ve been working on this for a year and I’m proud of myself. It’s true I was never bored, but it’s also true that ten thousand words is a lot of words, so it’s good to get it over with.
I’ve been celebrating by exclusively reading fiction and watching That 70’s Show on my sofa before I have to get back to revision and the ol’ job hunt. A student’s work is never done I guess…
As I veg out I find myself reminiscing slightly over the last three years, and I have to say I’m still annoyed we never got a field trip. I mean, History is one of those rare subjects that’s applicable to anywhere, and we still didn’t even get to see any extremely relevant exhibitions in London! Even the Computer Science lot got to go to Bletchley Park…
Not that I was eager to get out of Leicester or anything – there’s a lot going on here. On Saturday I spent the day at yet another food festival, stuffing my face with samosa and pie, and trying not to buy every single cookie I saw. I also got to hang out with a dog in one of my favourite bars, which was lovely. Also shout out to whoever made this playlist. Really topped the day off.
That’s another little update into the life of a History student. On Friday, I’ll be blogging about the process of writing an essay at uni as opposed to college, for all you prospective students out there. See you in a couple of days!
