On the first of June 2017 at 16:30, I put down my University of Leicester History Society pen and finished the last piece of my entire degree.
The exams are over, and so is student life for me! Unfortunately for you I’m still the uni’s History blogger until July, so you’ll have to put up with me until then.
My last few days of Leicester have been a happy haze of gigs, picnics, parties, cocktails, and having house movie nights until 5am. I felt like I’d come full circle and was behaving like I did when I was a fresher. All in all a great send off, filled with just the right amounts of nostalgia, sadness, excitement, and love. I have to say moving out of my house was a bit stressful though. I did go through everything on this great checklist though so hopefully all our cleaning will make sure we get the deposit back! Weirdly I don’t actually feel like I’m leaving – as so many of my friends are staying on another year I’ll be visiting loads so I can live the student life again. Although I don’t have any concrete guarantees as to what I’m going to be doing with my life now, I’m very excited to find out.
P.S. I’m now going on holiday for a month! The next three posts will all be queued. Enjoy!
