By my calculations I should be in Norway as you read this. If all has gone to plan, I am currently in a museum, about to eat something delicious having spent the day swimming in a bay. Catch up with me on my Instagram (jai7deo) for scenic-ness. But for now, a blog post in the form of a list.
I always find summer a bit depressing if I just spend it doing or achieving nothing, which also makes it worse when you have to jolt back into work mode later. To prevent this from happening, I’ve made a list of the things I hope to do over the summer.
- Learn British Sign Language – I first decided this would be a good idea after seeing someone sign on children’s TV. Learning a language can be tough, so why not start with one that’s already really similar to your own? Being able to communicate with more people than before is always a plus.
- Get through my reading list – Obviously. But I bet I won’t finish it because it just keeps on growing.
- Make a cocktail recipe book – Okay when I say ‘book’ I probably mean PDF file, but it’s going to be a collection of great (even if I do say so myself) cocktail recipes I’ve invented over the past three years. An ode to something I didn’t plan to achieve whilst at uni.
- Learn more History – I just really love History okay. I’m going to learn about all the things I didn’t have time to study during my course, and hopefully learn some pub-quiz-winning factoids in the process. I’m woefully ignorant about Irish history, so I’ll probably start there.
I hope this little list has inspired you to do something similar this summer! What ever you’re doing, I hope you’re enjoying it.
