May and June mark are a very odd time of year for university students. Final hand ins have been completed, summer is so close you can almost taste it, yet the final boss fight is just around the corner. Exams. I imagine a lot of you are sitting your final exams at your sixth form or college and if you’re anything like me, the mere thought of it makes you want to retreat back to bed and stay there, festering in denial.
Sadly, there are some things in life you just can’t nope out on, and exams are one of them. This is what I’ve been doing to stay sane, maybe these things might help you too
-Get your chores done first! I just can’t sit down and focus on revision if I can see plates that need washing or laundry that needs folding.
– Remember to eat and drink regularly! And no, haribo is not, and never will be one of the main food groups.
– Take a break, every hour.
– Go. To. Bed. The temptation to call it a day at 11 and then stay up until 3am is almost irresistible, but if you’re tired, you’re no good to anybody. The internet will still be there after exams, just get some sleep.
-And, finally. Cut yourself some slack. Exams just test what you learned in that particular class. They will never tell you how intelligent you are, how resourceful, how kind, or how much you are loved. Take a deep breath and try your best, thats all anyone can ever ask of you.
Good luck, i’ll see you next week.
