I’ve just submitted three essays and had my first exam this morning. It’s crazy to think that there’s just a few more weeks left of exams and then graduation in July. It’s a busy period for us all at the moment, so my apologies if this blog post is a bit brief! It’s easy to get stressed around this time of year, so it’s important that students know how to de-stress. Fortunately the University of Leicester Students’ Union is really going above and beyond to make sure that students can relax and keep stress levels low during the exam period. It’s things like this that make me appreciate the SU even more.
So, what is the SU doing exactly to help us de-stress? Loads of things, actually! Some of which have already been and gone. As I’m a big fan of animals, one of my personal favourites is the Joe McGuire petting zoo on Mayor’s Walk. There’s also Lasertag in the O2 Academy, Crazy Golf on the VC’s Lawn, Guide Dogs in the Training Room, and a Relaxation Station in the Square (I think this involves massages. I had my first proper, professional massage not long back and it was probably the most relaxed I’ve ever felt. Very good for de-stressing)! You can find out more information and see what else is going on here.
While I’m at home I’m trying my best to keep stress levels at a minimum. I’m taking breaks in between revision, doing a bit of exercise, and trying not to stay cooped up in my room for too long. I’m also stocked up on face masks and comfort food just in case things get particularly stressful!
Let me know in the comments how you like to de-stress during the exam period!
