I arrived home from the United States at 5am this morning, and suffice to say I don’t feel remotely alive. I didn’t really fancy doing a ‘What I Did On Holiday’ kind of post, even though I have lots to say, but I thought I’d talk about the slightly more unique events of the last two weeks; I realise no-one wants to read about me being sat by the pool.
Although I had lots of special holiday moments, my love of wildlife definitely influenced my favourites. From watching wild manatees, to unintentionally catching a fish, I found my fondness for marine life growing even stronger. I found out that water birds don’t mind drinking chlorinated pool water, which I am yet to understand. They additionally like to rub their beaks along the metal poolside rails, I don’t understand that either. I found a snake in the pool, and a lizard in the lounge. I went to a nearby conservation aquarium and laboratory, and saw the tiniest baby seahorses, and training sessions with otters; that was genuinely amazing, and cute of course!
Don’t get me wrong I did lots of other things during my trip, like playing golf, swimming, shopping etc, but it was definitely my experiences with marine life that stuck out to me. In all honesty I felt inspired to try and look after the planet a little better, trying to help out all the beautiful creatures, and hopefully find my way back State-side before too long, to do it all over again.
I should hopefully be back to my longer content within the next couple of weeks so stick with me folks. And finally, just because I realise you’re all itching to know, I put the fish safely back in the water, and gave him some bread for his trouble!
Take Care Everyone, Talk to You All Soon!
