Firstly, please excuse the drastically overused song reference in the title of this post but I couldn’t resist! I am so very lucky this year to be going on two summer holidays in a row and I am very excited!!! I have just finished packing and will be on my way soon to sunny Spain! 🙂 It is nice as I get to go both with my family and spend some quality time with them as well as going to somewhere different with some of my Uni friends after that. I have so many books lined up ready for me to get reading. Fiction books rather than textbooks as well! It feels like such a treat! 😀
I never really understood holidays when I was younger. Don’t get me wrong, I loved them. I just never really understood why people said they needed them. They didn’t seem too different from regular life except that they were somewhere that wasn’t home. I have to say I think I understand a bit more now. . .
They say that Uni is the best time of your life and I can certainly see why. I wouldn’t ever want to give up my Uni experience so far for anything and I would recommend it to anyone. However, it isn’t all fun and games. It is pretty hard work too! I have started to see now why my parents said they needed the holiday to just get away from it all for a while. Plus, I know that it is only going to get harder from now on when I do actually getting round to entering the real world and becoming a real adult! Hence why I intend to put that off for as long as possible 🙂
Knowing this, I am going to really make sure these holidays count. I am going to soak up and enjoy to the full my time away. Give myself a little rest and relaxation in the sun ready for the start of a new Uni year. I hope you too are enjoying your summer holidays, whether it is at home or away, and I hope you are all nicely rested up for the what’s to come in the rest of the year!
