On with the second Flashback Friday of the month and I am taken back to a very bizarre occurrence that happened last year…
There I was, sitting in my favourite place at the University of Leicester – the Student’s Union. I was hoping to finish some of my Contract Law reading when I was approached by someone, asking if I wanted to be an extra in a Bollywood movie!!
Now, before this happened, there was word travelling around campus that a movie was being filmed. Apparently, a big star had been doing a stunt where they had jumped off of the Charles Wilson building!!
However, this rumour, as I found out was very much true. The movie ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ was being filmed and many students were given the opportunity to take part in the O2 Academy and see these Bollywood stars in action. I was also one of those lucky few and it was a brilliant experience to get a first hand insight into what the filming process actually involves and see all these Bollywood stars.
My claim to fame aside, I must tell you more about the O2 Academy. I have to admit that it is one of the greatest perks that students at the University of Leicester have. The O2 Academy is a 1450 capacity live music and club venue. In particular, the Academy has around 4 acts playing per week and as Leicester students, we get priority ticket bookings to see many amazing acts such as Professor Green, Plan B, Jake Bugg and Marina and the Diamonds. Just recently the O2 Academy announced that Kasabian will be playing in Victoria Park next summer.
Well, I need to get back to answering my EU law problem question.
If you have any questions, please comment below.
Have a great start to December everyone!!!
Zara 🙂
