“A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity”
ELSA
ELSA stands for European Law Students’ Association. ELSA is an independent, non-profit, non political students’ association that aims to contribute to legal education. 38000 motivated young lawyers and law students share the vision of ‘a just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity’. ELSA’s headquarters are found at the centre of Europe– Brussels. But that’s not the end of the story. ELSA exists in 42 European countries and it is represented in over 300 law faculties. Since 2011, ELSA is represented at Leicester and it’s impact is growing with each year.
Why join
Participating in Law schools, moot court competitions and international legal research groups are only but a few ways to stimulate your intellect. Additionally, you’ll be able to expand your network as you will meet like-minded ELSA members from across the UK and the rest of Europe. ELSA offers an amazing opportunity for its members to experience decision making of international organizations. In other words ELSA sends delegates to the most important sessions of the WTO, UNESCO, WIPO, UN Human Rights Bodies and the Council of Europe. Last but not least, ELSA offers traineeships exclusively for its members with the objective to provide work experience abroad (in a country other than your own). You could get a traineeship at a publishing body, a commercial law firm, an NGO or even a research traineeship at a law faculty.
ELSA Leicester is the door to a vibrant, international community.
