Its quite bizarre how anxious students get before an exam. For most of us, it feels like we are going into the battle of the century opposed to answering a few questions for a couple of hours.
Surprisingly, the feeling never changes. I have been facing exams, like many people, from the age 14 and 6 years later, I still feel the same before every exam. Anxiety, worry, panic, numbness… you feel an array of emotions and I think we can all agree this is genuinely the worst time of the year.
However, as the famous war time motto states, we must all keep calm and carry on and put things into perspective.
Though revision and exams makes us all feel like an emotional zombie, we should all remember that it will be over soon. Most of us are approaching the final mile and the end is nearly in sight… we simply have to keep on going.
For me, I have my two final exams next week and its an amazing to think that this time next week it will all be over!
I was looking for some great tips to alleviate some of that exam anxiety, and I came across a brilliant page by UCL so if you are interested, I recommend you take a look.
Good luck to everyone who is taking exams this summer!
Zara 🙂
