The SCONUL access scheme allows university library users, such as full time undergraduates, to make use of other member libraries for the duration that you are a member of your ‘home’ library.
To my delight the University of Leicester is a member of the scheme which means that I can apply for access to a long list of other libraries in the British Isles!
This has been a handy addition to my commuter arsenal because I can now use the library in my home town to read and study in peace and quiet.
The scheme is also really helpful for the vacation period when you may be away from Leicester and in need of books, journals or a quiet place to study over the holiday period. If you have another University library close to your home town and that library is a member of the SCONUL scheme, you can apply online to get access to that library.
Take a look at their website for more information and details on how to apply for acccess.
