Our Tuesday Night Tradition

In my second year at University I lived with a great group of people in a pretty snazzy flat on London Road. I thought I’d share our Tuesday evening tradition with you.

We were not especially nightclub crazy as a group and preferred the vibes of a decent pub. The Marquis Wellington located on London Road soon became a favourite and we would visit the pub every Tuesday evening for open mic night. I have really fond memories of trying out the different ales on offer and listening to the great performances of local musicians and the occasional poet.

With everyone having different timetables and extra-curricular activities it was nice to make sure that we spent some quality time together as a group at least once a week. Kind of like date night for housemates 🙂

Every now and again we’d finish the night off at Madison’s cafe which is opposite the pub for a slice of cake or some ice cream.
