It’s been a wonderful week after exams trying to catch up with everyone I’ve neglected during revision.
This has included lots of pub sessions, a games night and shopping trips!
But then Lucie and I headed to Amsterdam for a few days to set off on our art tour. We explored the streets of Amsterdam and the highlight being the Van Gogh museum. He’s been a true inspiration to me since I was about 6 – I even stayed in during break time to finish the assignment about him. I was in awe of his perseverance since he only decided to become an artist at 27 and within the 10 years of him exploring art he painted hundreds of pictures and never gave up despite not being successful at all.
His unwavering belief in his art is something that I’ve always admired.
Next stop was Paris where we explored the Louvre! The Mona Lisa was bombarded by tourists which made it so difficult to really look at the painting, but it was definitely a must-see.
Final stop was London to the National Portrait Gallery and the Tate, which was a refreshing change of pace.
Overall a wonderful week and a much needed rest!
